Summary of Role:
Operations Support Engineer for Data Warehousing solutions as part of the Computer Integrated Manufacturing team, based in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES facility in Malta, NY. The data warehouse solutions are used in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fabs in the US, to support manufacturing and engineering analytics for quality and engineering purposes. The person In this role will be responsible for the deployment, configuration and operations support for data warehouse solutions, and will be responsible for organizing day to day operations support of production systems and deployments, identifying and implementing process improvements, and participation with CIM and Manufacturing Technology Management and development teams to enable key factory objectives. A good understanding of Data Warehousing and Software Development Lifecycle concepts, strong communication skills and a process-oriented mindset are required in addition to very good technical and documentation skills.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Coordinates activities for data warehouse solutions in both the pre-production staging and production environments.
Coordinates and executes change management processes in conjunction with the development teams and Change Control Board (CCB).
Communicates regularly with the Data Warehouse application owners to coordinate activities, discuss issues, and plan future activities.
Performs Level 2 Operations Support of Production Data Warehouse applications(a) regularly monitors applications to ensure that they are operating and that system performance is meeting service level agreement benchmarks (b) if system problems occur, performs the necessary tasks to resolve the problem based on the standard escalation procedure. Periodic 24x7 on-call support for high-severity incident resolution.
Responds to production system incidents raised by users within the defined Service Level Agreement, and works to resolve them within the defined Service Level Agreements, escalating issues to the Level 3 application development teams as needed.
Performs database application optimization and performance tuning as needed to ensure optimal system performance, collaborating with IT and application development teams as necessary.
User community support and trouble-shooting user reported system wide problems
Escalates production issues to CIM Operations Manager per the defined Service Level Agreements
Performs the timely deployment of releases and patches to pre-production staging and Production(a) coordinating with the application owners, maintains a schedule of planned deployments and publishes updates and changes as they occur,(b) Updates Installation Guides that are supplied with each deployment with local environment information.(c) keeps a log file on any changes applied to the production and pre-production staging environment
Supports the identification, development, and documentation of processes, procedures, utilities and operations manuals.
Supports the identification, development, and documentation of performance improvements.
Coordinates with IT to insure necessary hardware and software infrastructure is purchased, installed and available for Data Warehouse project use in a timely fashion according to a plan
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or similar relevant fields.
A minimum of five years supporting large Oracle database applications either as a database engineer, applications software engineer, quality assurance engineer or data loading support software engineer.
Willing and Able to Travel up to 20% of the time.
Fluent in English (Both written and Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years experience with Oracle RDBMS 11g and/or 12c Database Administration and application development features
Three or more years experience in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
Two or more years experience with large, complex database projects in environments producing high-volume data,
Five or more years experience in a UNIX/Linux environment, working knowledge of common UNIX commands such as communications, comparisons, and file management.
Three or more years experience with Korn shell, and developing applications or code wrappers using a scripting language such a Perl.
Experience in preparing data warehouse design artifacts based on given requirements (ETL framework design, data modeling, source-target-mapping),
Excellent conceptual abilities pared with very good technical documentation skills, e.g. ability to understand and document complex data flows as part of business / production processes, infrastructure.
Familiarity with SDLC concepts and processes
Through knowledge of Google G-Suite tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, Sites, etc.)- Strong verbal and written communications skills in English with good customer facing skills.- Demonstrated ability to work as part of team.
Demonstrated problem solving skills; familiarity with various root cause analysis methods; experience in documenting identified problems and determined resolutions.
Knowledge of one or more industry-leading ETL tools, preferably Ab Initio,
Experience with one or more modern programming languages, preferably Java
Experience in semiconductor industry,
Knowledge of XML
Experience with reporting data solutions and business intelligence tools
Experience in collecting, structuring and summarizing requirements in a data warehouse environment,
Knowledge of statistical data analysis and data mining,
Experience in test management, test case definition and test processes,
ITIL knowledge.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
