Software Applications Engineer - Factory Automation (CIM)

Summary of Role:
The Fab 8 CIM Applications team, comprised of system software administrators, manages the many applications and systems that support our highly-automated 300mm fab. The team works closely with the developers (external or in-house), SQA testers, IT and end-users.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operational support of front-end wafer fab factory applications deployed in a manufacturing environment
Application engineering of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Statistical Process Control (SPC) software, Advanced Process Control (APC), Recipe Management (RMS), Manufacturing Specification Management (ECN), User Interfaces (GUI), Databases, Business Process Management (BPM), Dispatch, Scheduling, and Reporting Systems
Develop and maintain troubleshooting and corrective action guides
Develop test plans and carry out testing new application releases
Plan and perform application installation during scheduled downtimes and during normal operations without downtime or production impact
Plan and perform training classes for level one support teams to include CIM Operations team and the IT Operation Center, and perform cross training with peer application engineers
Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions during unscheduled application downtimes
Work closely with IT to establish 24x7 on call support and troubleshoot factory system applications and infrastructure issues
Perform per agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLA's) with Operations, IT, and internal and external software suppliers
Demonstrate expertise in primary CIM applications as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Perform deep dive analysis on critical factory applications to determine solutions to system performance issues and drive to closure
Create alerts and troubleshooting guides to drive MTTD and MTTR improvements
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, CIS, Engineering or similar degree
At least 2 Years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, CIS, Engineering or relevant field
Experience in deploying and supporting large-scale information systems
Experience with major applications and IT components in a highly automated factory, including the Manufacturing Execution System (e.g., SiView, RTD/APF), material control system, equipment interfaces, process control software, dispatching/scheduling applications, and common database and data replication technology (e.g., Oracle, DB2, Golden Gate)
Experience with Windows Server or Linux running JBOSS
Experience with monitoring tools to include log4j and SQLplus to troubleshoot applications
Knowledge of transport layer technology for communication between application systems (e.g. IBM MQ, CORBA, HTTP, SOAP)
Good knowledge of databases, programming languages (Java / .Net) and Unix/Linux scripting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and communicate in a global organization
Recent experience supporting a leading-edge 300-mm-wafer factory with a high degree of automation and complexity

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
