Failure Analysis Technician

Summary of Role:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated physical analysis technicians to become part of our state-of-the-art facility in Malta, New York. This position will be required to have specialization in one or more of the following:
Structured measurements of TEM/SEM images
Knowledge of TEM sample preparation using dual-beam FIB
Knowledge of TEM imaging
Knowledge of SEM / SEM-FIB cross-section preparation and imaging
Essential
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of Semiconductor TEM/SEM sample preparation techniques to enable measurements to be conducted
Conduct routine measurements on jobs using defined and documented procedures meeting or exceeding cycle time and quality standard expectations
Interact with lab shift supervisors, lab engineers & managers on defining analytical methods needed to achieve expected results, meeting expectations of analyses and interpretation of results
Compile measurements data for customers To impact Yield corridor
Assure Accuracy and precision of Data being collected
Use standard software applications for analytical job management and results reporting
Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize, cycle time, utilization and cost
Complete all required reporting and documentation
Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
Actively participate in continuous improvement processes
Train new team members as requested
Have a sense of urgency
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required
Qualifications:
Education - 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in a Science, Math, Engineering, electrical engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training / experience or a related discipline or 2 additional years of relevant experience
Language Fluency Fluent in English Language written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per day shift schedule. Able to follow work and safety procedures for laboratory environment.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Semiconductor process knowledge
Experience using SEM, FIB, TEM sample preparation, layer by layer delayering.
Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
Direct experience working in an analytical laboratory, preferably related to failure analysis, materials science, inorganic chemistry or semiconductor manufacturing would be an advantage
Direct knowledge of one or more analysis methodologies used in failure analysis for state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing
